The original ones were made from five real Half Dollars but because of different tolerances in sizes from different years and different mints, some of the gimmicks would make rattling sounds and often fall out of the cap and expose the secret. We refused to offer you a fake looking chrome plated single stack of coins like you would find in Nickles To Dimes and Dynamic Coins. To solve this dilemma, our version is made with a Real Half Dollar permanently affixed to the top of the stack (use your own real half on top of that). The rest of the four gimmick coins are made from individual custom rings. These rings have knurled edges just like a real Half Dollar. They are then plated in chrome. Next, they are lightly sandblasted for an mild aged look. The bright plating will pit over time dulling the look so they appear more normal. The stack looks great, so you will never have to worry.
