It’s time to celebrate halloween New York City style and join in on the ghostly antic’s of the village parade, costume contest, and post parade party at Webster Hall. This year’s theme is ghost. So go wild with your ghoulish imagination and creations-anything phantomous works. Anyone in costume can join the parade. The line-up starts at 6:30 p.m. south of Spring St. Dead or alive arrive at 6th Ave between Spring St. and Broome Streets. The parade rises UP 6th avenue and ends at 22nd St. Join the halloween party after the parade at Webster Hall- right on 22nd St. heading towards 5th Ave.

When: Easter Sunday March 23, 2008 beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Where: Along Fifth Avenue from 49th street to 57th street. ( The best spot for viewing is around St. Patricks Cathedral )

Star Wars fans will be excited to know that the The Franklin Institute will be the first to exhibit Star Wars costumes and props from all six Star Wars Movies. The exhibit is called Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination. Also included in the Star Wars exhibit are hands-on labs where you can create and test robots and speeders. The Star Wars exhibit runs form Feb. 9th, 2008 to May 4, 2008. Learn more about the exciting Star Wars exhibit experience at The Franklin Science Museum Institute. Here is some exciting news for Star Wars fans. The Clone Wars a new animated feature film from imaginative creator George Lucas will open in theatres August 15, 2008. In the next chapter of the Star Wars saga The Clone Wars, classic characters like Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Obi-Wan Kenobi,and Yoda return to the screen. After 19 years the fedora wearing, whip cracking, icon Indiana Jones is back. The movie Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull opens in theaters May 22, 2008. Harrison Ford aka Indiana Jones will be starring with Cate Blanchett, who plays Agent Spalko in a dominatrix role, Karen Allen, and Shia LaBeouf. Allen revisits as Indy’s vivacious girlfriend, ( Marion Ravenwood) from Raiders of the Lost Ark, and opinion has it that Shia emerges as Marion and Indys love child. The storyline is Indiana Jones, (archaeologist Dr. Jones), challenges cold war Russians in this action packed thrilling adventure set in the 50’s. The film has a new twist which delves into science fiction territory. The crystal skull ,”skull of doom”, is thought to possess supernatural powers according to legend. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is directed by Steven Spielberg, written by George Lucas, was filmed primarily in New Mexico. Coincidentally, Area 51 is located there also. This is an area where supposedly UFO sightings have occurred and alien research is thought to be conducted.
