Daring Spring Trap

        A plated spring animal trap is shown and set. The effectiveness of the trap is demonstrated by placing a pencil, wood stick, etc. into the trap. It springs shut with a bang shattering whatever is placed in the jaws of the trap. The trap is reset and the performer, after much by-play, thrusts his fingers into the trap and the jaws slam shut on the magicians fingers. The trap is sprung open and the magician's hand is unharmed. This is a very effective and bizarre piece of magic. Harry Anderson's Wise Guy book, his entire routine for this effect is detailed.
